Places

Sigil: The City of Doors, the Center of the Multiverse, and the kingdom or prison of the Lady of Pain. A torus-shaped city impossibly floating outside of the normal multiverse, Sigil connects to every other plane of existence. Because of its value, it is ripe with intrigue, politics, and the infamous Factions. Sigil is divided up by wards, usually denoting wealth and prosperity (The Lady's Ward, the Clerk's Ward, the Guild Ward, the Market Ward, the Lower Ward, and the Hive).

Broken Reach: Broken Reach was once an Outlands Gatetown to the Abyss, but after it became too wicked it was pulled through the gate and now lies as a shattered ruin on the 1st layer of the Abyss: The Plain of Infinite Portals (aka Pazunia). Broken Reach is something of a trade town, trading with the Outlands and other Lower Planar burgs. It is ruled with a barbed whip by Red Shroud, once of the most powerful and infamous of succubi.

The Feydark: As the Feywild is a mirror of the Prime world, Toril, the land masses above are more or less the same. So is it with the series of caverns and tunnels known as the Underdark. Its fey twin, the Feydark, is just as insidious, for it is home of the Fomorians, twisted and cruel fey-giants of shadow, who wage endless wars against the Fey above. It is said many great secrets are hidden within these caverns.

Gates of the Moon: A realm of Ysgard, ruled over by the power Selune (worshipped on Toril as the Goddess of the Moon), the Gates of the Moon are home to the Lillendi and the most famous doorway to the Infinite Staircase.

Gloomwrought: The largest, most accessible city of the Shadowfell. Its inhabitants joke that Gloomwrought is the "undead" twin of Sigil, for the town shifts in subtle (and sinister) ways, has mysterious, silent custodians known as "Keepers", and possesses many portals to both the Inner Planes and Outer. It is likewise plagued with politics and intrigue. It is significant trading hub between the Inner and Outer Planes, and a place to get contraband and illegal goods and slaves that are outlawed in Sigil.

The Infinite Staircase: An escher-esque labyrinth of staircases that wind and twist and branch off into infinity. Doorways, both shifting and stable, appear throughout the stairs. It is said that one can always find their "heart's desire" if they climb for long enough, but few return from finding it. The Planewalker Sect calls kip here, and it is regularly patrolled by Lillendi.

Palace of Moon and Stars: The lavish palace is the home of Princess Asteria, an Archfey and daughter of Queen Morwel (Queen of the Gloaming Courts). There is always a party or social gathering of some sort happening here.

The Mortuary: Located in the Hive of Sigil, the Mortuary is home to the Dustmen faction and also where all the dead of Sigil are interred or cremated.

Tir Na nOg: A vast forest within the Outlands, full of Celtic-style mysteries. It connects to both the Feywild Seelie Court and Yggdrassil, making it useful for traversing the planes if one is skilled at forestry.

The World Serpent Inn: Existing outside of the normal bounds of time and space, the World Serpent Inn caters to an eclectic, motley crowd of planar beings. Violence is prohibited by powerful magic within its walls, save for in the "arena" fighting pit. Mitchifer, a mysterious, immortal, happily caters to all folks, always seeming to know what is desired. The "back rooms" possess doorways which lead to various planes, but it is often a gamble where one will end up. Portals to the Serpent Inn cyclically manifest on many planes and Prime worlds, and stable portals exist in the Infinite Staircase and near the Gatetown of Ecstasy. Mysterious platinum coins can act as Gate-Keys to the Serpent Inn from taverns in Sigil and elsewhere.

Zobreck: A free burg located on the edge of Tir Na nOg, and one of the largest non-Gatetown cities in the Outlands. Zobreck was founded long ago by Celtic-style humans, who still honor "the old ways." Zobreck has a cyclical gate (The Faerie Ring) that connect to various realms of the Elves, as well as a stable gate to the Astral, making it a useful hub.
